We are God’s
Workmanship (Eph. 2:10
).
Ephesians 2:1–10 (NKJV)
1 And you
He made alive,
who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised
us
up together, and made
us
sit together in the heavenly
places
in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves;
it is
the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For
we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them

Moses was inspired to see man as God’s workmanship.
Genesis 1:27 (NKJV) 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.Slide6
David was inspired to see man as God’s workmanship.
Psalm 139:13–14 (NKJV) 13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.Slide7
“…we are His workmanship…”

Anyone should be able to see that we are God’s handiwork.
Romans 1:20 (NKJV) 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made,

It is important to recognize that we are God’s workmanship.
(Eph. 2:2) “…you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air…” (Eph. 2:3) “…we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath…”
As a result the
consequences
are devastating:
(Eph. 2:5) “…we were dead in trespasses…”Slide11
Since I am God’s workmanship…
…I need to act like it (Eph. 2:10). …I must not boast in myself (Eph. 2:8-9).…I must glorify
God (Eph. 1:6).
…I must be patient and forgiving with
others (Eph. 2:7).
…I must imitate
God (Eph. 5:1-2).
