What is your price?

Luke 12:16-21 – Jesus reminds us that it is our soul that is requiredSlide3

What is your price?

There are several examples to learn from

.

Gen

. 13 – Lot was given a choice of land and the he chose the plain of Jordan. He pitched his tent as far as Sodom

.

Judges

16:5 – Delilah was bribed by the lords of the Philistines.

Num. 22-24 – Balaam was willing to be hired by Balak for prophesies against Israel.Slide4

What is your price?

1. From

Lot we can learn to look at the bigger picture. We should try to determine the long term advantages or disadvantages of our decision making

.Slide5

What is your price?

2. From

Samson we can learn that we must be careful who we associate with because something they do might have an effect on us. Some will not want to give up an earthly association because of the earthly advantages that are gained.Slide6

What is your price?

3. From

Balaam we can learn that we should not compromise the world of God by our greed.

Slide7

What is your price?

It is obvious that some were able to be bribed.

They

set a price on their decisions.

Sometimes

these decisions would affect their life, the life of others and their eternity.Slide8

What is your price?

Who was bribed, what was the price and what did it actually cost

?

Gen. 3:1-7 – Eve was bribed; her price was good food, something that looked good and wisdom; they were cursed by God and cast out of the garden and sin entered the

worldSlide9

What is your price?

Who was bribed, what was the price and what did it actually cost?

Acts

5:1-11 – Ananias and Sapphira were bribed; their price was esteem from others and money; they lost their life because they lied to GodSlide10

What is your price?

Who was bribed, what was the price and what did it actually cost?

Matt

. 26:14-16 – Judas was bribed, his price was 30 pieces of silver, his lifeSlide11

What is your price?

In these examples the lessons are clear

.

1. Eve had a desire for the things of the flesh. Adam simply made a choice to follow. They believed the lie of Satan. We can fall into similar traps when we give ourselves over to the desires of this life and not consider the life ahead of us

.Slide12

What is your price?

2. Ananias and Sapphira teach us that a focus on esteem from others is vain glory. We should do things for glory for God and we will receive the same from God

.Slide13

What is your price?

3. Judas had a desire for money and no amount of money was able to ease his conscience when it was pricked. He knew enough to not trust in money but he did not trust in God.Slide14

What is your price?

How can you be bribed?

What

is your price

?

What

will you gain

?

What

will it really cost you?
