Hypothesis

Primary Hypothesis- test four dual flush system will work adequately to save Evergreen water and money with a 3.5 GPF toilet

Alt. Hypothesis- We change the four flushers to dual-flush and it doesn’t benefit the the campus

Null Hypothesis- The test dual flush systems don’t work and cause back-up in the pluming

Inquiry Exploration

We want to install 4 dual flush handles in the SEM 2 B building to see how well they work with 3.5 GPF toilets; this will help us determine if it’s worth installing dual flush handles in all of SEM 2.

91,250 flushes per year roughly in sem 2. 320,000 gallons of water. Which costs $.21 per gallon.

What we’ve learned…

The toilets we want to convert are 3.5 GPF instead of 1.8 GPF.

We have all the free dual flush systems we could ever need

We need to up the pressure in the toilets to handle the low water flow
