ABSTRACT: Child labour is one of the burning issues in the society today. Working children occu py a relatively weak and exploitative positi on in labour markets. India has the largest number of urban and rural child workers in the world . Goa has a relatively large population of child workers of which there is a substantial population working ac ross the coastal belt. Goa with its 105 km long coastline is a world famous tourism hub. This paper tries to focus on the problems faced by t he child labour working in beach shacks and hotels across the coastal areas of Goa in ter ms of drudgery, health hazards, punishment and vices. It has been seen from the study that when children have to work, there is no growth in their personality, but on the contrary you can see depression, a nxiety, stress, psychotic behaviour and substance abuse amongst these children. The study is exploratory in nature and the situations have been explained with the help of both quantitative and qualitative paradigms. 71.3 3% of child labourers experience drudgery at the place of work. They enjoy neither safety nor security at the place of work and hence are ex ploited . All this leads to loss of future h uman resource. KEY WORDS: Child Labour, Drudgery , Goa, Hazards, Problems .
