The Millipedes and Oentipedes of the Douglas Lake Region Verne Gowe Aug 19, 1933 The Xillipedes the various 2nd localities in ord9r to get a general idea of the distribution of the millipedss and centipedes. The charte inclcded rill give e. general i8ea. of the distribution of the species found. The various localities listed mere used as collecting areas but once with the exception of Grapevine point and Fairy island. I collected species frm the latter places three times each and they proved to be the best collecting areas. A more c~reful the material mpy yield addi

They msre 4-5 mm long. From this it would appear thet at least Lithobius and Gsogbilus may be breeding in the egrly part of Jl~ly and the Poung hetch in tfrs later pert of July or the first of August. I hope to get 'more deta on this next summer. gpirobul-.m of various sizes mere f ov.nd moulting 3n Fairy Island. mile working with the collection

I found the lower intestizle of the Spirobulas to 59 rather hsavily infested with nematodes. Practically ell Spirob~~lus 5x?mined coatrined nematodes. The Rhigansma and Thelastoma zre the most comon. Then examinkng the contents of a red-bscked sal- auander tBs reasins of a Lithobius were found in the stomach. I believe iiillipedes migrate considerq.ble. I have noticed a number of milligedes cremling across either dry ssnd, wet ?xsch, or over leaves in the :=rests. 3r. st~tes tk~t he h?s seen SpiroSulus ia nwbsrs on tke skores of Lanc~ster lake e
