Now visitors nd a refreshing place to camp in a mature forest between Pendleton and La Grande. Universal Access One tent site (A19) is accessible to campers with disabilities. Camping Rates Rates are subject to change. You can nd up-to-date information by calling 1-800-551-6949 or visiting www.oregonstateparks.org . Camp With Your Horse e horse camp north of the day-use area has seven campsites with corrals. Each corral accommodates two horses. e camp is also a trailhead for an equestrian trail that meanders behind the park. Riders returning to the camp must stay on the trail. Year-Round Cabin Comforts Emigrant Springs’ duplex totem cabin and six rustic log cabins oer a unique overnight camping experience. e totem cabin has two separate units; each has a bunk bed with a double mattress on the bottom and a single on top. e rustic cabins are 13 ' x 13 ' feet and have 6-foot covered porches. Each cabin has a futon couch and a bunk bed that will sleep two on the bottom and one on the top with vinyl-covered mattresses. ere is also a small refrigerator, table with chairs, lights, and heating inside. Outside you’ll nd a propane stove and oven. Up to two pets (cats and/or dogs only) are allowed in the pet-friendly cabin for an additional fee. Groups Welcome e group tent camping area is reservable year-round by calling 1-800-452-5687. Groups can reserve the community building by calling the park oce at 541-983-2277. e building includes both kitchen and dining accommodations. Kitchen shelters are also available in the park’s forested picnic area. Group activities for individual campers are regularly scheduled during the summer. Join us for a guided nature hike or an evening interpretive presentation to nd out more about the area’s history and natural resources. Explore the Oregon Trail Learn about the adventures of early settlers from the park’s Oregon Trail interpretive shelter and covered wagon display. Emigrant Springs is near an original section of the Old Oregon Trail. Wagon trains camped in the vicinity for several days and replenished their water barrels from the spring. A monument was erected at this location and dedicated by President Warren G. Harding in their honor on July 3, 1923. Oregon Trail wagon ruts can be seen at Deadman’s Pass Rest Area seven miles northwest of Emigrant Springs, on I-84, and at the U.S. Forest Service Oregon Trail Interpretive Park located o I-84 (take Exit 248 and follow the signs). Enjoy the Thrills of a Rodeo Pendleton is the home of the famous Pendleton Round-Up. is mid-September event attracts some of the nation’s best rodeo performers and is always an exciting show. During the Round-Up, the Happy Canyon Night Pageant provides a portrayal of early Native American culture. Other local attractions include the Pendleton Underground Tours, the Pendleton Woolen Mills, and the nearby Tamastslikt Cultural Institute, a Native American museum.
