Are changes in physical forms or behaviors brought about by natural selection that enable an organism to better survive in its natural habitat.. Many adaptations have to do with getting food and oxygen, moving or staying in one place. Ayden Jones. Were they live. Here are the places where deer live.. North America. What are Behavioral Adaptations?. -Every organism has adaptations that help them survive.. -Behavioral Adaptations are things an animal does to survive.. . Plants have adaptations to help them survive. The cactus shows lots of desert adaptations. Long root systems spread out wide or deep for water. A cactus stores water in it’s spine. Some cacti have white hair to help shade the plant. Some plants have no leaves or small seasonal leaves that only grow after it rains. Plant adaptations.com . How Do Animals Adapt?. Adaptations:. An . Adaptation. is a physical feature or behavior that helps an animal get food, protect itself, move, or reproduce.. A . trait. is a physical feature.. Sometimes there are not enough resources to go around.. Objective: . To show your understanding of adaptations and how they drive evolution.. . Background: . Adaptations are structures or behaviors by which a species or individual improves its ability to survive in its environment. For example, bats have large ears and aerodynamically shaped noses to allow their high-pitched screeches to reach their ears easily. Zebra’s stripes help them to confuse predators when travelling in large groups. Plants that live in dry environments have a thick layer called a cuticle to help them to retain water. In fact, nearly everything about an organism is an adaptation of one kind or another. Think of a trait that an animal has, and then think of how that trait helps it to survive and reproduce in its environment. Different adaptations are helpful for different environments: the white peppered moth was able to survive easily against the white bark of the tree; however, after the Industrial Revolution, the white coloration of the moth made it more easily seen by predators when against the soot-covered trunks of the trees, and their population began to decline.. The African Spiny Mouse has super thin skin which helps them survive by speeding up the healing process of cuts because it’s so thin. This also makes blood loss minimal..
