Background ISACA’s vision: Trust in, and value from, information and information systems ISACA’s mission: For professionals and organisations be the leading global provider of knowledge, certifications, community, advocacy and education on information systems assurance and security, enterprise governance of IT, and IT-related risk and compliance

ISACA HQ’s objectives ISACA HQ defines the following objectives for each chapter: Plan and maintain an effective and active local chapter operation with respect to administration Plan and maintain an effective and active local chapter operation with respect to membership services Provide an ongoing education program for individuals within your chapter territory Maintain regular contact with ISACA International HQ and participate in ISACA International activities and conferences Promote professional growth and development of individuals within your chapter territory through the acquisition and maintenance of their ISACA certifications Communicate and promote the value of ISACA to the: Business community Regulatory community Academic community

Our 2014 strategy The following slides define our 2014 strategy against ISACA HQ objectives. New initiatives for ISACA Wellington are coloured red . ISACA HQ objective What we will do Plan and maintain an effective and active local chapter operation with respect to administration Maintain compliance with chapter bylaws and formally review on an annual basis Conduct monthly Chapter Board meetings Appropriately manage Chapter finances and prepare: Monthly financial reports for review by the Board Annual, audited financial statements for presentation to the membership and ISACA HQ and subsequent acceptance Complete and submit the annual report and scorecard to ISACA HQ Prepare a data security policy that defines requirements of the management of member data

Our 2014 strategy ISACA HQ objective What we will do Plan and maintain an effective and active local chapter operation with respect to membership services Understand member-related aspects of ISACA HQ’s 2022 strategy and develop a supporting strategy and initiatives Promote our new website to all members as a key communication channel Engage all departing members and conduct an exit survey. Identify any necessary changes to our strategy and initiatives

Our 2014 strategy ISACA HQ objective What we will do Provide an ongoing education program for individuals within your chapter territory Conduct at least eight ISACA lunchtime education sessions (or which at least two are from university based personnel or leverage recent university research) Organise and conduct one education day Organise and conduct one training day Identify like Wellington-based organisations and notify members of at least six educational events via our website Identify at least 10 new ISACA HQ publications and tools available to our members and publish on our website Identify opportunities/incentives for members to attend Oceania CACS and communicate to all members Inform all members of how to use new online CPE reporting functionality

Our 2014 strategy ISACA HQ objective What we will do Maintain regular contact with ISACA International HQ and participate in ISACA International activities and conferences Identify key messages within ISACA HQ communications and publish on our website Attend the Oceania Leadership Conferences and report other Oceania chapter initiatives to the Board

Our 2014 strategy ISACA HQ objective What we will do Promote professional growth and development of individuals within your chapter territory through the acquisition and maintenance of their ISACA certifications Conduct CISA, CISM, CRISC and CGEIT study courses using certified personnel where demand exists Provide members with tools to demonstrate to their stakeholders the value of ISACA certifications and membership Identify at least 10 new ISACA HQ publications and tools available to our members and publish on our website Communicate the value of ISACA certifications to at least four Wellington-based recruitment agencies

Our 2014 strategy ISACA HQ objective What we will do Communicate and promote the value of ISACA to the: Business community Regulatory community Academic community Refer previous objective Conduct eight ISACA lunchtime education sessions (or which at least two are from university based personnel or leverage recent university research) Offer prize to the top performing Victoria University Info 301 student Conduct one lecture to Info 301 students

Appendix A: Member survey In February 2013 ISACA Wellington reached out to our members to understand the value they obtain from being an ISACA member and identifying where further improvement opportunities exist These perspectives, with ISACA QA expectations, have been used to define our 2014 strategy 31 of our 220 members (14%) responded
