How we arrived!
My great-grandmother, Anne Schipper
(Antje in German) was born in Germany and traveled here aboard “The Berman” which traveled through the debris of the Titanic – although it was too late to rescue anyone,

he did recall seeing the bodies floating in the water though and was devastated
to see a mother clinging to her baby, both frozen! Their ship did not recover any bodies, as there was a boat being sent for that purpose!Once she arrived, she actually went Iowa and after my Great-Grandfather finished serving his time in the German army, he followed her here and they purchased a farm in Fulda, MN – which is still owned by our family!Slide4

My parents are both from Minnesota!They moved to South Dakota after they were married and that is where I was born (Sioux Falls!)
My dad then owned his own avionics shop (Beechcraft) and moved us to Denver, CO
After my dad’s business partner sold his part of the business, so did my dad and he took a job at Duncan Aviation – where he has been ever since!
So, I moved here in 4
th
grade and although I have moved elsewhere for a short period of time – we moved back here almost six years ago to be closer to our parents!Slide5
Interesting Facts…
I have lived in five states!My great –grandfather who was in the German Army actually bunked with Adolf Hitler (he was also just a soldier at this time and my grandfather was in the U.S. by the time he had moved up in power).
My uncle, Richard
Dierks
was actually one of the first people to win the Presidential Fitness Award and was featured in Sports Illustrated and won a trip to Disney World!
