This s tudy c ompared demographic, beha v ioral, and psycho g ra p h i c charact e ris t ics of lan d - b a s ed ( n =2 2 9) and onl i ne gam blers (n=6 3 ) . Us i ng n on - para m etr i c t - tests a nd c o rre l atio n s, s e veral stat i s tically signific a nt differe n c e s were i den t ified. Despite the r e sults sh o w i n g that de m ogr a phic ch a r a c ter i st i cs c a nnot b e us e d to id en tify online g am blers within the sa m ple respo n den t s, stud e nts w e re id e ntified a s sp e ndi n g a nd wa g eri n g m ore m oney than the p eo ple in full - ti m e e m ploy m ent. A beh a vioral differe n c e w a s identified, w i th online g am blers e n ga g ing in c a si n o table ga me s signif i cant l y m ore ti m es p er m onth.
