BRUNTSFIELD COMMUNITY GREENGROCER SHARE OFFER A group of local people is working on a project to set up a community - owned greengrocer in Bruntsfield, Bruntsfield Community Greengrocer, which will be trading as Dig In. The shop will be owned and managed by a co - operative that is registered as a Community Benefit Society under the Industrial & Provident Societies Act 1965 with the Financial Conduct Authority, number 2778 RS, with a Committee elected by the shareholder members. Months of work have gone into de veloping a business plan, researching suppliers, market research, developing our online resources and identifying premises and we are now ready to take on premises once we have raised the initial capital that is required for a venture of this nature. With the help of the community (and hopefully some external funding) we are confident that we can raise enough money to enter into a lease, purchase stock, and provide sufficient working capital to run the shop. In order to proceed we need to raise £30,000. In summary the main applicable terms and conditions are as follows:  You can purchase a share from the age of 5 years.  The minimum share investment is £25; the maximum permitted is £20,000  Each shareholder is entitled to be nominated and vote for the election of members to the Committee at the Annual General Meeting.  Each shareholder has one vote irrespective of the number of shares held.  Interest can be paid on the shares if the surplus (profit) from trading is sufficient.  The value of shares of a deceased sh areholder may be transferred to another person in accordance with his/her wishes.  At the discretion of the Committee, share capital may be withdrawn upon giving due notice, provided that sufficient funds are available.
