DLR- Monday, August 6, 2018 Linking Verb- connects (links) the subject to a word or phrase that refers back to the subject Common LV: am, is, are, was, were, be, being, been, has, have, had, can, could, do, does, did, shall, should, will, would, may, might, must, etc. Five senses: looks, sounds, smells, tastes, feels, etc. Adjective - Describes, modifies, or gives more information about a noun or pronoun. Ex: cold, happy, young, two, fun The little girl has a pink hat. Adverb - Modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. It tells how (often), where, when. Often, but not always, end in - ly . Ex: slowly, very, always, well, too Yesterday , I ate my lunch extremely quickly .
