We “borrowed” an old greenhouse from another school

A waiver of a math and science course in each of the 11

Hamilton High School GreenHouse

Project

(HHSGHP)

HHS began to use an old greenhouse on campus primarily for transition skills for SPED students in the school 2013-14.

Students raised flowering plants, ferns, mums, vegetables and sold them to the public.

The greenhouse was old and in need of repair and enlarging.Slide27

HHS applied for and was awarded a $10,000 grant form NW AL RC&D to remodel the existing greenhouse.

The “New” greenhouse will:

Have auto fertilization and watering

Partially operate on solar power

Also:

Hydroponics in conjunction with Environmental Science Class

Horticulture class taught
