Sir LancelotSlide2

Lancelot was the son of King Ban of Benwick and Queen Alaine. When he was

a child, his parents were driven out of their kingdom in Britain by their enemies. At this time, Lancelot was left by the shore of the lake while his mother was trying to help his wounded father. This is when Vivien, the Lady of the Lake, took Lancelot away, and raised him as her own son in the magical kingdom. The Lady of the Lake, Vivien, sends Lancelot to King Arthur’s court, where he becomes a knight.

The Lady of the Lake gave Lancelot a sword that had mystical powers.

Sir Lancelot Du Lac was the first knight at the Round Table in the Arthurian legend. He typically features as King Arthur’s greatest champion.Sir Lancelot was the greatest fighter and swordsman of the Round Table. He was also a knight who was always willing to serve others.Sir Lancelot was the greatest knight of all. But in time, his love for Guinevere, King Arthur’s wife, leads him to betray his king and sets in motion the fatal events that ended Arthurs rule.

Sir Lancelot’s HistorySlide3

Sir Lancelot fell in love with Queen Guinevere , King Arthur’s wife, almost right away.

Many of the Knights of the Round Table were upset that Lancelot was betraying King Arthur. Since he was one of the most famous knights of the Round Table, Elaine of Corbenic ends up falling in love with him.Elaine tricked him, making him believe she was Queen Guinevere, and she ended up giving birth to their son, Galahad. When Queen Guinevere finds out about his affair with Elaine, she is furious.

Lancelot ends up going mad, and wanders around the wilderness for two years.

He then runs into Elaine, who shows him the Holy Grail. The Holy Grail cured his madness, and he returns to Camelot. Sir Lancelot still suffered from guilt over the fact that he loved Queen Guinevere.Sir Lancelot and Queen GuinevereSlide4

Sir Lancelot’s son Galahad, arrives in Camelot, and together they began their quest for the Holy Grail.

Sir Lancelot and his son find the door to the chapel where the Holy Grail was kept.Sir Lancelot is not allowed to enter, because his love for Queen Guinevere was stronger than his love for God. Sir Lancelot was only allowed to have a quick look at the Holy Grail.Sir Lancelot and His SonSlide5

Sir Lancelot and Queen Guinevere were caught together in her chamber by Mordred

.Lancelot ran away, and Queen Guinevere was sentenced to death, to burn at the stake.Sir Lancelot returned to rescue Queen Guinevere, and accidently kills three men, Agravain and Sir Gawain’s two brothers. This caused a war to then break out between Sir Lancelot and King Arthur.

The war was then called off when King Arthur had to return to Camelot, to deal with

Mordred’s rebellion. When Sir Lancelot tries to help King Arthur, he arrived too late, to find King Arthur wounded.King Arthur ends up dying, and this was the end of Camelot.Queen Guinevere decides to become a nun, and left to live in Amesbury.Sir Lancelot became a hermit for the rest of his life. Lancelot is considered to be very popular in the French Arthurian legends.
