Common issues and their solutions

Student is unable to copy and paste.Students may receive a pop-up message stating they will need to instal a program in order to copy and paste.

This is not necessary as this only pertains to copying and pasting using the right-click function.

Students will need to use the following keyboard shortcuts to copy and paste:

Copy:

ctrl+c

Paste

:

Entire screen appears “zoomed in”

When the entire screen, including the dock icons at the bottom, appears zoomed in, the resolution for the screen has been changed. This can happen for various reasons and the fix is

relatively

simple.

Click the clock in the lower right-hand corner

Click the gear icon for settings

Scroll down to devices

Select display

Set the resolution to 1920 x 1080 (Best) or the highest setting

available

orientation locked.

In tablet mode, the screen can become locked in portrait orientation. To correct this:Click the clockSelect the “orientation lock” icon

The orientation should go back to standard.

In computer mode, if the is locked in portrait orientation:

Click the clock

Select the “gear” icon for settings

Scroll to “devices”

Select “displays”

Downloaded files “missing”

Click “files” icon

Click “downloads”

Click the circle in the lower left corner

Students may have difficulty locating files they have downloaded from the internet.Slide7

Caps lock

Really, this is just eliminating the search button.

Many students will become frustrated by accidentally hitting the search button when typing. There is only one way to

permanently change the function of this key.

Click the clock

Click the gear for settings

Scroll to devices

Select keyboard

Select caps lock from the dropdown next to search

Documents

Students will be able to open Word documents in compatibility mode.
