Do Now: ReviewLow key lighting can be used in your Propaganda Project to create a dark mood, feelings of mystery and/or oppression.

Rembrandt lighting is a form of low-key lighting.

The light is placed at a 45 degree angle and illuminates the subject from the side.

Group Practice: Shooting a high + low key image* Groups have a time limit of 15-20 minutes per setForm a group of no more than four individuals. Each person in the group has a specific job;

photographer

; shoots image(s)

photo assistant;

takes light readings using a light meter, moves lights on set

subject

; listens to photographer and follows their instructions

digital tech

; takes production notes, list of group members, f-stops, shutter speed, etc. downloads images to google docs and shares with group.

Each member of the group will photograph a total of

two

images;

(against black).

Each group member will rotate jobs within the group so each group member has the experience of exploring all job.

Once

Crop each image, 8X10 at 72 DPI.
