N E S W 10 th Vocab Unit 6 Last one of the semester!!

Virulent (adj) – extremely poisonous​ That snake is the most virulent one I have ever been around, he killed a deer with one bite. 

Deft (adj) – skillful; nimble ​The photographer is known for her deft use of lighting.

Ominous (adj) – unfavorable, bad, unpleasant  ​The door closed with an ominous boom that echoed throughout the spooky barn.

Rampant (adj) – growing without check; running wild ​The kudzu ran rampant over an old barn until the entire thing was covered.

Venal (adj) – open to or marked by bribery, willing to take bribes,  ​Because the mayor was a venal man, he had no problem accepting bribes from people.

Encumber (v) – to hinder; to weigh down; to burden ​Hector's fate encumbers him so he runs away from Achilles. Weighed down by LUMBER 

Atrocious (adj) – exceedingly bad; wicked ​ous=adjA 54 average for the last vocabulary quiz is atrocious!
