Volatile paced the den angrily . S he muttered incomprehensibly to herself as she waited for the others to enter the den. S o far Allasa, Skrack, Ictus, Leaf, Luca and Sneak had shown up. They were still waiting for Avo , Trigger, Bullet, Fire, Ice and Jay. Volatile was getting impatient. There was an issue that she needed to address, a big issue. D uring her silent rant Avo and Jay arrived. She didn ’ t notice until Skrack brought it to her attention. S he gave him a look that told him to go back to his place . H e hesitated but went back to his place next to Allasa. Roughly ten minutes later Trigger, Bullet, Fire and Ice arrived. Finally! Volatile scanned the den making sure everyone was present then quickly scanned the outside. They were alone. “ AL RIGHT! S O YOU ALL KNOW WHY WE ’ RE HERE RIGHT? ” She began. Skrack shivered obviously a bit afraid of her since she was in a bad mood, or it was cold? Volatile shook herself out of her thoughts and looked at the crowd. “ ~Of_course_we_know_why_w e ’ re_here! ~It ’ s_about_Hawk_i sn ’ t_it? “ Allasa responded. “ ...this is about the choice he must make... ” Skrack added . “ Yeah! It ’ s about how if he chooses one path he ’ ll forget us and everything we ’ ve been through! ” Fire and Ice chorused. “ Also about how Storm will react if he chooses one of the two paths . ” Trigger threw in. “ The Gawl Phantom will also change if he chooses that path! ” Bullet whimpered as he hid behind his brother. “ I for one don ’ t want to see that happen! ” Leaf called. Usually he would be calm in these situations but now he was scared, that much was obvious to Volatile. “ As much as I believe that Hawk should be allowed to choose who he wants, I ’ m still scared! I don ’ t want to be forgotten! ” Ictus yowled. “ I for one don ’ t want to lose a friend! He was one of the first c hupacabra I met and he ’ s always been nice to me! ” Luca wailed. She was clearly distraught. Sneak and Jay looked and each other before nodding. The two seers agree d with the group. During the conversation Volatiles mood had cha nged. This was going to surprise some members of the crowd. “ ...I don ’ t want Storm to be alone... I know she has us but... I don ’ t know, I just feel like she deserves this, you know? ” She murmured . She was right; those in the crowd wh o didn ’ t know her very well were surprised by her change in attitude. “ Volatile ’ s right, I know my sis ter better than anyone here, so I know how sensitive she is. She already has many wounds, wounds you can ’ t see, and if more are added then no good will come of it. ” Avo announced. Volatile could n ’ t help but smile at her Moirail ’ s brother. He was understanding and supportive. Storm was lucky to have him and Volatile knew for a fact that Storm knew how lucky she was. “ ...hawk will have to make a decision . .. and soon... ” Skrack began. “ ...we all know that no matter what someone will be hurt... but none of us want that one to be storm... ” he mused. “ ~Skrack_is_right! ” Allasa yowled. “ We agree with the masked ninja! ” Fire and Ice chorused. Soon the den was filled with cries of anger. They all agreed with Skrack, he was the expert on these things after all. “ Skrack, could you please tell us more? ” Volatile asked her friend. Skrack looked a bit surprised, Volatile didn ’ t see why though; he was a blue blood after all and higher than her on the hemospectrum. Wait was he blushing? Yes there was a faint blue blush visible above his mask. “ ...well, if hawk do&#x-300;es choose kunai, then we will have a problem... i don ’ t know what that problem will be like though, after all i don ’ t know storm as well as most of you... perhaps avo can tell us more...? ” Skrack explained. Volatile turned to Avo. They nee ded to know the extent of the problem before it happened. “ Our problem will be Dark. ” Avo stated. “ ~Whose_Dark? ” Allasa asked. “ Dark is Storm ’ s evil side. Let me explain. ” Avo began “ Think of it like a scale. O n one side of the scale we have Dar k and on the other side we have Light. When the scale is balanced then we physically and mentally have Storm, the neutral character in this. If the scale tips too far to one side then that will change, instead of Storm we will have either Light or Dark. The Scales must remain neutral. ” “ Yes, that sums it up Avo . ” Jay commented. “ Thank you Jay. Now the same thing counts with Phantom, depending on which way the scales tip we will end up meeting either Ying or Yang. The last time I met Dark, almost no one survived her attack, s he was driven mad from the unseen wounds. I can only imagine how bad it will be if we end up meeting her again. ” Avo conclude d . “ He ’ s right. ” Sneak mewed thoughtfully. “ What can we do? ” Bullet piped up from behind Trigger. Volatile looked at him gently. In all honesty she didn ’ t know. She didn ’ t know how to solve this problem . “ I don ’ t know Bullet, I really don ’ t know. ” S he replied The others began to grumble and fidget. Did they really expect her to think of everything? That ’ s it! They did! She couldn ’ t think of everything! She ’ s only one chupacabra! “ DON ’ T ANY OF YOU START COMPLAINING! IF YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT THINK OF SOMETHING! YOU DON ’ T NEED ME TO HOLD YOUR PAW THE WHOLE TI ME! I ’ M SCARED TOO, BUT I CAN ’ T THINK OF EVERYTHING! ” Volatile yowled . Red tears streaming down her face. The others stopped grumbling and actually started discussing plans. Skrack rose form his place next to Allasa and padded over to her. “ ...i don ’ t e x pect you to do everything... ” he told her. “ Really ? ” “ ...yeah... look i know it ’ s hard but i ’ ll be there to help you... ” “ Thanks Skrack, that really means a lot. ” She whispered as she smiled warmly at him. “ ...really...? tha nk you weinig ... oh wait i mean volatile... ” He whispered hurriedly . “ You still call me that? ” Volatile asked. “ ...yeah... i miss the old days before syrill went mad with power... ” Skrack explained. Blue tears were welling up in his eyes. “ So do I... I don ’ t want s torm to have to go through that. ” Volatile replied. “ ...i don ’ t want that to happen either... ” Skrack agreed. “ Well we ’ re going to have to do something then! ” Volatile mused. “ ...yes... we will not let her suffer... this is also for hawk as well though... ” Skrack whispered. He looked like he wanted to say something else. “ Not just for them either. We ’ re doing this for everyone! ” Volatile decided. “ ...yes... this is for the best... ” Skrack murmured . “ I know that yo u want to say something. Just say it, get it off your chest. ” “ ...flushed for you... ” Volatiles heart stopped for an unhealthy second. He was flushed for her? After all this time she thought that no one would even consider being flushed for her thanks to her ... issues. But Skrack was. She smiled when she felt her f ace heat up. “ Flushed for you too. ” She replied as she leant against him. Having a matesprit would n ’ t stop her from helping her friend. She didn ’ t want Storm to miss out on this. Now she was even more determined to help her and Hawk have a future together.
