How do Glass Bottle Suppliers Make t hese Bottles? Making of glass bottles and containers is an age old process and while the basic methods remain the same, a lot of the production of glass containers has been automated. The most popular method for making glass bottles is the press and blow process and this is used by almost all glass bottle suppliers . Glass forming methods Before entering the forming machine, molten glass gobs are chopped by a precisely timed blade to guarantee that each gob is of a same weight. The forming procedure for each glass container being created depends on the gob's weight. Gravity is used to feed masses of glass into a machine for molding, where pressure is used to shape the bottle's neck and basic shape. The form is referred t o as a prison once the neck finish and general glass bottle shape have been accomplished. There are two procedures that can be employed to produce the final container shape. Press and blow process The Press and Blow procedure is the one that is most freque ntly used to make glass bottles by the glass bottle suppliers . To make multiple containers of the same size at once, it uses an individual section (IS) machine that is divided into various sections. A shearing blade is used to slice the liquid glass into p redetermined gob sizes. By the power of gravity, the gob enters the device. The gob is pushed into the mold with the help of a metal plunger, where it begins to take shape and turn into a prison . The prison is then moved into the blow mold and heated until it is pliable enough to complete the glass's proportions. Air is injected to blow the container into shape after the prison has been heated to blowing temperature. Wide - mouth bottles and jars are frequently made using press and blow techniques because of their size, which allows the plunger to fit into the prison .
