P R O P O S E D R E S O L U T I O N A RESOLUTION BY THE CALIFORNIA COASTAL COMMISSION TO HONOR DAYNA BOCHCO WHEREAS, Dayna Bochco was appointed to the California Coastal Commission in May 2011 and served as Chair from December 2016 through Decem be r 2019. WHEREAS, as Chair, Ms. Bochco brought to commission proceedings , enthusiasm and a respect for the process . T hroughout her time on the commission, h er strong leadership and communication skills have and continue to elevate the work of commissione rs and staff, thereby furthering coastal protection state wide ; and WHEREAS, during her tenure as Chair, Ms. Bochco insisted on accountability, professionalism, integrity and excellence in public s ervice from her fellow commissioners and s taff; and W HEREAS, Ms. Bochco demonstrated her strong commitment to environmental protection and public service when s he became a commissioner and subsequently took on the significant responsibilities of Chair for three years ; discharging th e se responsibilities with skill, grace, and humor; and WHEREAS, Ms. Bochco, through leadership and personal example, he lped establish collegiality and respect among commissioners and the public. She i s unwa vering in her commitment to preserving and improving the quality of coas tal lands and waters an d upholding the goals of the Coastal Act and the mission of the commissio n ; and WHEREAS, Ms. Bochco’s fellow commissioners, staff, and the public greatly benef itted from her time as Chair a nd will continue to benefi t from her servi ce on the commission . NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the California Coastal Commission wishes to express its sincere appreciation, affection and respect to Dayna Bochco for her long and outstanding record of public service on the commission , especia lly the three years that she served as Chair of the commission, for her efforts to improve environ mental quality, and her dedication to the wise use of coastal resources f or t he benefit of current and future generations Witness: ______________________ ________ _____________________________ Steve Padilla, Chair John Ainsworth, Executive Director
