Generation Xer versus Boomer“As the president of our club, I communicated that our club would be a partner in an environmental project. The public signing was before our board meeting, and club members attended. During our club meeting, Lion Harvey informed me I had no authority to sign the agreement before the board approved. Time was short and the result positive, so I thought it would be fine to get the approval at the next meeting.

Boomer versus TraditionalistLion William, our Club President at the time, would not directly explain the club’s dues structure. I really wanted to know. He just said, “this is the way its always been done.” That was not a satisfactory response to me, plus he did not even present written agendas for the meeting. I don’t think that is proper.”

Millennial versus Generation Xer“Lion Janet seems to get kind of loud and animated in meetings. I do not understand why she gets so worked up when she is making a point. It causes other Lions in the club to start arguing with her and the entire situation makes me uncomfortable. I don’t know why we can’t avoid disagreement and just come to a consensus quickly.”

Traditionalist versus Millennial“I was mentoring Lion Mitchell, and we were going together to District Convention. The weekend started on Friday afternoon with a golf tournament for all Lions. Mitchell did not want to participate in the golf outing, or the banquet on Saturday night. He just wanted to participate in the training sessions on Saturday. I don’t think he understood the value of networking.”
