Transporters Compare shipping prices & ask what the packaging requirements are.

Vendors Contact your vendor Ask about their packaging or other requirements. Set up an account and negotiate rates. You might have to pay them to take materials, or they may pay you if the materials are valuable.Ask for suggestions for transport companies Find out if they can pick up from the port or airport or dockCosts of recycling materials What’s allowed and what’s not

Thanks all Vendors & Transporters Don’t forget to thank all the transporters and vendors at the end. Having good partnership with those will be useful in future backhauls.

Lessons Learned Preparing at least 3 months in Advance. Complete Inventory as soon as possible. Outreach continuous to everyone in community to improve participation. Research for pallets, partnering with airlines, and researching costs to ship them to communities. Purchasing pallet jacks to maneuver materials with pallets easier than man-power. Making sure connex is the right number.Helpful to have extra hand for packaging materials in connex. Double check the connex number before shipment or filling it with material.
