StageNow WorkstationAirWatch Device Administrator Enrollment Profile[Started revision for FTP Server] Date: 24/04/2018 Author: Mike Mattia & Dave Degrassi

Assumptions The device(s) to be staged is starting from a Factory Default state. Applicability:OS: Android N – 7.1.2MXMF: 7.1 and aboveAirWatch Agent: 8.0.0.101 and aboveAW-MX service: 3.0.0.10Devices: TC51, TC20PrerequisitesDownload and install StageNow. On AirWatch Console, set up an Organization Group (OG) and accounts to enroll the device with. The OG does NOT require setup for AFW. Contact David Degrassi at Zebra for access to the necessary files. Be prepared to provide the Customer information. Assumptions, Applicability and Prerequisites FILENAME DESCRIPTION StageAirwatchDA.xml XML file required for staging AW DA.

Procedure - Staging Method - StageNow Barcode Scanning Step 1: Add a Staging package on your AW Console. A Wi-Fi profile for this staging package is not required. (Contact VMWare for this procedure.) Download the package from the AW Console to your Workstation (the “Sideload” option will download a *.ZIP file).Decompress the file. It has 2 folders that are required for this procedure as shown below. The folders contain these files: Step 2: Create a folder on the Workstation e.g. c:\AW\SideLoadStage_AWDA Copy the entire decompressed Staging package (from Step 1) to this folder. FolderContains\agent Several files including the agent APK’s.\enrollment credentials.bin file which have enrollment details e.g. GroupID, User & PW. \advancestagingThis folder is not required. Root folderFiles in the root folder are not required.

Procedure - Staging Method - StageNow Barcode Scanning Step 3: Paste StageAirwatchDA.xml to this folder: c:\AW\SideLoadStage_AWDA\agentIMPORTANT: Folders and File names are case-sensitive. Make sure the *.xml file specified above is named exactly as shown.Step 4: StageNowEnsure the StageNow Workstation is connected to the same Wi-Fi network to be used for staging the device. La unch StageNow on the Workstation and log in as an Administrator. Step 5: StageNow - Create a new Profile; this will be the profile that will stage AirWatch.For the MX version, choose MX7.0 or higher as this is only applicable to Android N devices and above.Choose the Xpert Mode configuration.

Procedure - Staging Method - StageNow Barcode Scanning Step 6: StageNowEnter a name for the StageNow Profile e.g. AirWatch_DA_EnrollmentStep 7: StageNow - Add Wi-Fi, 6 FileMgrs and Batch configs to the Profile.NOTE: For successful staging, both the Workstation and device must be connected to the same network. Add a Wi-Fi config to the Profile only if you do not have an independent method for connecting the device to the staging network (e.g. separate barcode or manually-configured). The Wi-Fi config would be added as the first config in the Profile.

Procedure - Staging Method - StageNow Barcode Scanning (cont’d) Step 14: StageNowConfigure the Batch:Choose Batch File Type: XML File (default).Choose Batch File Access Method: File in device file systemPaste this in the field for the Target Path and File Name: /data/ tmp /public/agent/StageAirwatchDA.xml IMPORTANT: Folders and File names are case-sensitive. Make sure the path and *.xml file specified above is named exactly as shown.

Procedure - Staging Method - StageNow Barcode Scanning (cont’d) Step 15: StageNow - Complete the StageNow Profile as follows:Select:Then select:Step 16: StageNow - Generate Staging barcode(s) as follows:Select StageNow for PD417 barcode.Select Publish.Select Stage. This will produce “The Staging Barcode(s)”.<Optional> Save the barcode PDF file. Print the barcodes.

Procedure - Staging Method - StageNow Barcode Scanning (cont’d) Step 17: Before scanning the Staging barcode(s):Ensure the StageNow Workstation is connected to the local staging Wi-Fi network (same as set up in the Profile or as independently staged).Ensure StageNow is running on the Workstation.Step 18:For each device to be staged:Install a charged battery and press the Power key to turn on. After initial power up, device will display the Setup Wizard (SUW).Scan the barcode below to skip the SUW and launch the StageNow application. NOTE : The barcode above is supported by MX7.1 and greater. If the SUW is not bypassed after scanning, then manually navigate the SUW screens and launch StageNow from its icon. Step 19: Scan “The Staging Barcodes”. Barcodes can be displayed on the Workstation display or printed out. Note: The elapsed time from Scan to Enrollment is approximately 6 minutes. Device displays may go dark due to timeout while the enrollment finishes. This is expected. Step 20: <optional>Log in to your AirWatch Console to monitor the progress of enrolled devices. Devices will be added the Device List as they complete enrollment.
