We are having an impact! The UK
government is
now giving
more than any other country in aid to
education.
Sadly, the global picture doesn’t look so
good - many
countries are giving less than last year and education aid has fallen by £200 million globally.
£17 billion a year is needed to get every child in school - about four times as much aid as is currently being given. Slide15
So we can’t stop campaigning yet…
In the words of
Malala
Yousafzai
:
“I speak, not for myself, but for those without voice to be heard…
“
Let us pick up our books and pens. They are our most powerful weapons.
“
One child, one teacher, one pen and one book can change the world. Education is the only solution. Education first.”Slide16
