International Festival
I
t
was incredibly interesting to see which booths and cultural areas people gravitated towards. Unsure if it had something to do with the layout, or the actual cultures themselves. Most people were crowdedaround the south side of the festival near the Koreanand Latin American end.Big line for coconuts, everybody loves coconuts. Slide3
South End
The south end was most playful, open, and friendly.
Asian game being played where there are two sticks being rattled rhythmically while people jump in and out of it like a jump rope.
This game was lively and attracted spectator involvement.Slide4
In the Midst
In the midst of the festival there were food and culture related booths.
Most people gravitated towards the foods.
I ate at the Korean food booth.Slide5
Culture and Jewelry
One of the booths featured jewelry made from old postage stamps all across the world
This was the only booth that wasn’t about a specific culture besides the information booth.Slide6
North End
Towards the north end of the festival were more of the Middle Eastern and
A
frican cultures. Some of them had food, while most simply had information and poster boards set upLess people were at this end, perhaps due to the layout of the festival. This end had more people who were specifically from that culture as opposed to those who were interested to learn more about the cultureSlide7
Overall Effect
Food seemed to be the biggest draw for people to learn more about a culture.
Students were most receptive to the liveliness and friendliness of the south end of the festival.
The north end had people that were more reserved and quiet.Interesting to see the differences in culture and how that attracted certain people to learn more.Slide8
