Some of my student athletes were very anxious about stepping into the spotlight yesterday. They haven’t had the same experiences as their general education peers. They haven’t played little league, given recitals or had other opportunities to take center stage. However, their fears soon melted away when they felt the love, acceptance, and compassion from everyone involved in the event. For me, it was wonderful to see my students celebrated. It was incredible to see how much joy my students brought to such a terrific audience. Yesterday surely will be one of the most cherished days in my teaching career. Thank you to everyone that made this event happen
