Florin Cojoc is the Romanian who succeeded in compet
ing in Paralympic Games in 2012 and winning without an arm. Slide3
He told us that, when he was 12 years old, he loved being at a high altitude so that he could watch everything. So, one day, he climbed on a high voltage pole.
There was a gorgeous view, but, suddenly, he unbalanced and hold with his left arm a thread with 6000 volts.Slide4
When he woke up, he c
ould only remember that his left arm had disappeared. His first thought was related to his ability to play
footbal, but his mother told him that he was lucky enough to survive such a terrible accident.Slide5Slide6
It was really hard because he had to learn once again how to eat, how to wash himself, how to dress up,etc.
Then,he stared to play tennis,volleyball, so it did not take long until he became an athlete.Slide7Slide8
It was in 2008 that he
decided to participate in the Paralympic Games which he won due to his hard work and determination. That success encouraged him to compete in
more contests organized in Beijing, New Zealand, Liverpool and many other places.

He became the first Romanian Athlete who competed in the Olympic Games for
athletes with disabilities in London. Florin is very excited about his future even if he knows that he has to train harder and harder,
to work more and to be dedicated 100% to his cause.Slide11
In conclusion, Florin Cojoc succeeded in overcoming
his condition and achieving great results in his life, despite his physical impairment and that is
why we think he deserves to be considered one of our national heroes, a real role model for the young generation. Slide12
