For grown ups, the way they celebrate depends on each individual.

Children celebrating their birthdays prepare ahead of time by picking out clothing to purchase specifically for their birthday. The party itself is a luncheon or dinner of some sort, held either at home or in a rented banquet hall for family, close friends, and acquaintances. Decorations vary, but may include colored string-lights, banners, flower bouquets, or balloons for parties for all ages. Cake, beverages such as coffee and tea, along with savories snacks or main a meal is served. Indians are very hospitable and love to entertain in this way. some couples in urban areas consummate "love marriages", in which the partners decide to marry each other without family involvement or assistance. is chosen for the performance of wedding ceremony.

Kanyadaan

The bride's father puts a ring on the boy's finger and then he gives his daughter to the boy. This ritual is known as the

take place in front of the sacred fire-

(vermilion) to the girl’s hair partition and the
