The SlandererHis Slick Tricks and How to Slay Him(Part 2)Slandering and Murder are Equal to One another.Compare the statements by Jesus: A twist of the slandered’s words coupled with a Scripture passage intermingled with the Slanderer’s own perception of things brings about deception. The Slanderer himself is self deceived and believethat they have a righteous cause against the one that they are slandering. This is why a true pastor must warn about these types of things, even if the message is not a popular one John 10:1013; Jer. 23:4The pastor is the watchman that God has placed in the church to warn people when wolves, slanderers, and false teachers come in their midst (1 Pet. 5:15).b.Too many shepherds are afraid of hurting someone’s feelings or rocking the boat or losing income or people. They are more concerned about material things than warning the sheep about the dangers they face.Theshepherd is required to give an account to God for your souls (Heb. 13:17).d.The slanderer’s false information must countered by the Shepherd/Watchman who is required to feed God’s people with Biblical TRUTH.Now that we understand this truth we are ready to look at a few more tactics of the Slanderer.V. More of the Slander’s TacticsThe Slanderer is a controller and if he is unable to control a situation then then he will slander the one who is hindering him.The Slanderer has no respect for authority andwill attempt to control the one that is in authority.b.If he is unsuccessful in this attempt then he will resort to slandering the established authority. The Slanderer loves to blame others for the problems that he himself causes. The Slanderer refuses to recognize their culpability in the problems that they cause. They always want to blame someone else. The Slanderer often attempts to build up the ego of the person who lends their ear to the slander. The Slanderer will always compare your virtues to the perceived “lack of virtues” in the slandered. b.Because we all enjoy praise and we all have a propensity towards pride, we can easily fall prey to a silver tongued slanderer.
