You can do this by connecting it to your computer’s USB port, or use the included wall charger. Hint: Charge faster via wall charger. CONNECTING TO A PC You do not need to download any drivers to connect your device to a PC or Mac. Simply connect the USB cable to your recorder. Connect the other end directly to a USB port on your PC. Do not use a hub. In a few moments, your PC will automatically connect to the voice recorder. e rst time, it may install standard drivers. is is normal. Your voice recorder will charge while connected, and you can also access the les on it. You can now use the voice recorder as you would any external drive or USB ash drive. Remember to EJECT your device before pulling the USB cable out. is end to computer USB port. Charge for about 2 hours via USB or 1 hour wall adaptor. We recommend you install the time stamp before deploying (unless it is not important for your application). 1. Begin by connecting your device to your computer. make sure it is in o position before connecting. 2. A window will pop up. open it by clicking “open to view folder” (windows users) 3. Go to website in the same section you downloaded this user manual. 4. You will need to download and save the two les from our website, to your device. Once you save them in this section (called root section), double click the SetDigitalRecorderTM.exe le. A window will then pop up saying is pop up will show up aer double clicking SetDigitalRecorderTM. exe le. If the time shown is correct, click SetTime button to conrm. You should get a SUC - CESS notication. Your time stamp is now cur - rent. See next page for very important note about the time stamp TIME STAMP Page 6 PRODUCT MANUAL RolyPoly Voice Activated Micro Voice Record - www.SafetyBasement.com Phone: 877-345-2336 Fax: 888-236-2524 IMPORTANT: time stamp will remain correct while unit has charge. if you run this unit until it is fully depleted of power and turns itself o as a result, you will need to reset the time stamp feature by double clicking the time le, the nunplugging and deploying. e time stamp will not need to be re-done if this unit has power at all times. Example you use this unit for just 5 hours then recharge it again. You will be ok. However if you keep this unit on (recording or not), for say 15 hours, chances are it has run out of power and died. In this instance, you will need to plug it in and re-set the time stamp. To begin recording move switch to ON position. e indicator light will turn on, blink for a few seconds then go o. Your unit is now recording audio! To stop recording move switch to OFF position. It is that easy!! PLAYBACK Make sure unit is in OFF position before next steps. 1. Plug in included headphones. 2. Move switch to ON position. Unit will begin playing your les in sequence. SKIP/REPEAT We recommend you read this entire section CAREFULLY is feature is functional while you are in playback mode (previous step). e (PLUS +) Button: 1. e + button allows you to skip between les in a dierent section. Keep pressing that to skip to next le. e (MINUS -) Button: 1. is button has two functions. Note carefully below. So when you rst plug in your headphones to playback, you will start hear - ing the sample songs on the recorder. To SKIP to the RECORD folder, press the MINUS sign once. is will jump you into the folder. Once in the folder you will start hearing your rst recording. While in that fold - er, you can now use the PLUS + button to skip les within the folder. If you want to move back to the songs outside the folder, pres the MI - NUS button again. is function is useful if you want to split les for whatever reason and want to play les in a specic folder only. HINT: If you want to skip all this and want to start hearing just your recorded les aer you have plugged in your headphones and turned your device on, we recommend you delete the sample songs from de - vice! is way you’re not dealing with sections. See diagrams below for diagrammatic demonstration MINUS - button ese are default les in root section. ey will begin playing rst. To SKIP them and go into the RECORD folder, press the MINUS button. en you can press the PLUS button to jump between les within the folder. Use standard Windows and Mac techniques to COPY, MOVE and DELETE your les. We recommend you COPY your les to your PC for archiving and best playback. NOTE TO MAC USERS: To delete les properly, you MUST empty your trash before disconnecting your Mi6. If you dont want to have to deal with the plus or minus buttons and what to press rst, delete the two sample music les. en you will only be le with the RECORD FOLDER. See image on next page.
