Passing Yards – pass plays that result in positive, negative, or zer o yards are included. 2 pt. conversions ARE NOT included, as they do not count toward yardage totals. Pass TD’s – any pass play that results in a touchdown. 2 pt. conversions ARE NOT included. Interceptions – any pass that is intercepted, even if after the interception, the defense fumbles and the offense regains possession. The pass was still intercepted. This DOES NOT include 2 pt. conversions. There is no change of possession, and therefore, no interceptions will be recorded. RUSHING: Carries – on any rushing play, positive or negative, one player is awarded a carry. On a pass play, if the quarterback is sacked behind the line of scrimmage, this will be recorded as a carry, and the yardage will be subtracted from his rushing total. A sack WILL NO T count against passing yardage totals. NO CARRIES will be recorded on P.A.T. attempts. Rushing Yards – includes all rushing yards, positive or negative. This also includes quarterback sack yardage, which will be subtracted from the quarterback’s rushing total. This DOES NOT include P.A.T. attempts, or sacks on 2 pt. conversion attempts, which do not count toward yardage totals. Rushing TD’s – any rushing touchdown. This DOES NOT include P.A.T. attempts. RECEIVING: Receptions – Any pass that is caught w ill be considered a reception. This DOES

XP (or P.A.T.) – any rushing play that results in a Point After Touchdown conversion. This MUST be a rushing play, and will be awarded one point. 2 pt. conversion – a ny passing play that results in a successful 2 point conversion. This MUST be a passing play, and will be awarded two points. DEFENSE: Tackles – all tackles will be recorded as simply “tackles”, not “solo” or “assisted”. On any given play, up to two play ers may be credited with a tackle. If one player makes the tackle, record one tackle for that player. If multiple players are involved in a tackle, record one tackle each for the two players whom you feel had the most involvement in the tackle. This can be the first two players to make contact, or the last player to hit (and knock over) the pile. But NO MORE than two players should be credited with a tackle on a given play. (These count as full tackles on the stats, not half tackles.) Tackles for Loss – not to be confused with a sack. On a non - pass play if the ball carrier, no matter who it is, gets tackled behind the line of scrimmage the tackler will be credited with a tackle for loss. Sacks – on any passing play , if the quarterback is tackled behind the line of scrimmage, a sack is recorded for one player on defense. If you cannot determin e which of two players should be credited with the sack, award a half sack to each of those two players. But NO MORE than two players should be credited with a sack on a given play. In addition, any player who is credited with a sack should be awarded on e tackle for the same play, as a sack is still a tackle. If a player is awarded a half sack, he still gets credit for a tackle, as well. So, no player should ever finish a game with more sacks than tackles, but he can obviously finish with more tackles t han sacks. A player will NOT be awarded a sack for tackling the quarterback, unless it is an obvious passing play. Tackling the quarterback behind the line of scrimmage on a designed run is NOT a sack at any level of the game. Interceptions – any pass th at is intercepted should be recorded as an interception. This DOES NOT include 2 pt. conversion attempts. If a defender intercepts a pass, then fumbles the ball and the offense regains possession, an interception is still recorded for that player. Forced Fumble – On most fumbles, a defender caused the ball to be fumbled. He should be credited with a forced fumble. If no one touches the ball carrier and the ball comes loose, there is no forced fumble credited. Only one player can be credited with a forc ed fumble on a given play. This DOES NOT include P.A.T

. or 2 pt. conversion attempts. Fumble Recovery – any fumble that is recovered by a defender, leading to a change of possession. This DOES NOT include P.A.T. or 2 pt. conversion attempts. Only one pl ayer can be credited with a fumble recovery on a given play. Additionally, when there is no change of possession (i.e. an offensive player fumbles the ball and an offensive player recovers the ball), no fumble recovery will be credited. Defensive TD’s – a ny turnover (fumble recovery or interception) that is returned for a touchdown. This DOES NOT include P.A.T. or 2 pt. conversion attempts. KICKOFF RETURNS: Returns – one player shall be credited with a return of a kickoff. If the return team runs a rever se or a lateral, the last player to possess the ball shall be credited with a kickoff return. Return Yards – any yardage gained from the point at which the kick was fielded or picked up, to the point at which the runner is tackled. If the return team runs a reverse or a lateral, the last player to possess the ball shall be credited with all of the return yardage. Return TD’s – any kickoff that is returned for a touchdown. ***Each team may keep other stats in addition to these, but this is the minimum, and these are the guidelines to be followed for each.
