Overall, this is a wonderful book for anyone who\'s serious about strengthening his or her body from the inside out. The Practical Handbook of Nutrition in Clinical Practice is an excellent supplement to standard textbooks in nutrition support and a must-have reference for those with an interest in this area. The text reviews nutrition assessment techniques from the very basic to the latest research methods. The areas of malnutrition and refeeding are explored as are overnutrition and obesity. Enteral access techniques and enteral nutrition are expertly covered. The history and current practice of total parenteral nutrition are discussed by one of the modern-day developers of this lifesaving technique. The role of managed care in nutrition is a timely chapter with current health care reform in mind.
