Køge-egnens WWTPIncrease of hydraulic capacity and reduced operating costse StudyThe KLAR Utility in Køge is an independent utility company that covers 4 municipalities, south of Copenhagen: Køge, Greve, Solrød and Stevns WATER TECHNOLOGIES Bene ts for the clientBefore 2011 the maximum hydraulic capacity was approx. 3,400 m³/h during short periods of rain and 1,900 – 2,400 m³/t during prolonged rain of ½ - 1 days.After the installation of Hydro ex the capacity has been increased by approx. 100% to 4,000 m³/h during prolonged rain.The hydraulic capacity can be further increased if the plant’s physical bottlenecks are changed, e.g. through a widening of the passage hole between the process tanks.The installation of Op ex has given the following advantages to and good results to the client: Operating results from Køge-egnens WWTP in the period 1/10/2013 - 1/10/2014Reduced energy consumptionApprox. 35%Reduced chemical consumptionApprox. 60%Reduced chemical sludge amountApprox. 40%Reduced wastewater tax: BODApprox. 50%Total N
