,

)and then the first name or first few letters.

Summary page

The

Summary tab is a read-only tab and provides a quick look at student data

.Slide23

There

are four areas of information on the summary tab -

Person Information

,

Mailing Addresses

,

Household Information

and

District Defined Elements

. Slide24

Personal Information

The

Person Information

area lists the

student's

person

ID

name

nickname

race/ethnicity

gender

student numberstate ID.

Student phone numbers are under the student information.

Parent

phone numbers are next to the names of the parents.Slide25

Mailing Address

The

Mailing Address

area provides a view of the student's mailing address.

Addresses will be listed as Primary, second, and so on.

When printing mailing envelopes: “Print envelope” will print an envelope for every address under a student.

Those that live at multiple addresses, this solves that problem.

The MAP link will bring up a link to the student’s address on a map.Slide26

Household Information

The

Household

provides users with a view of the addresses associated with the student's

household

and all of the people that have a relationship with the student.

Relationships

to people outside of the household (aunt/uncle, daycare provider) appear in the Non-Household Relationship box. If a student is a member of multiple households, information for both households will display.

Any new information the you receive, you need to email the head secretary to fix.Slide27

Summary Tab Reports

Summary Tab Reports

The information that displays on the Summary Tab can be printed and given to parents/guardians or other personnel for a review of the data.

To

print the Summary information, click the appropriate print icon for the desired report format. A PDF window will appear in a new window that can then be sent to a nearby printer.

In addition, a mailing label and an envelope can also be printed.

Print Mailing

Labels

(There is a glitch with this currently)

Print EnvelopesSlide28

Grades

You can

use the gradebook icon to see in progress grades. These will show all final grades.Slide29

Attendance

Broken down by period…

Under the attendance tab, mouse over the codes to see what it’s referring to!

SA = school

activity

A Summary to see if attendance is improving in the year

This compares attendance throughout the classes.Slide30

Flags by student name

Different flags will appear as Alerts!

Look for

flags

next to the students names. Hover over that and the alert will show up, it can also be clicked on.

Some Examples are

Contact

Health

Diploma – (GEDO2, Sped, Regular)

Attendance

Sped (hovering will show what the disability is)

If you are aware that a flag is needed or needs to be changed, please tell one of the secretaries.Slide31

Enrollment

Enrollment shows where the student

has been. Slide32

Counseling

Academic Planning

Other General Information

A Health Tab will also be available to list conditions, immunizations, screenings, medications, health office visits, and contact logs.

HealthSlide33

Student information PLP – contact log

General Notes are no longer as they were in ESIS

The PLP contact log is for all general notes.

You may write a note based on Health, PLP, Special Education, Counseling, or RTI

There is a separate location for Contact Logs.

HOWEVER!! Every note can be seen – be professional! These notes will be used at C.O. hearings. Parents may see these notes.Slide34

Behavioral Referrals

All Behavior Referrals will be done on the computer.

There will no longer be any paper referrals.

In

case of an emergency – then the referral can be done be hand and then

done online.Slide35

Behavioral

If your box is empty, all of your referrals have been submitted

If a referral is in the box – it’s saved for you to make changes. It has not been submitted to the administrator.Slide36

To start your referral

Add a referral.

The default will be discipline, but can be switched to be an award too.

Click the correct date and the correct time of the event – NOT when the referral was handed in.Slide37

Incident Information

Pick

administration

Pick a Title

– Incident

Fill in context /Location – drop down.

Description allows for more specifics

if needed

Details – NO STUDENT NAMES – broad picture of what happened

.

TitlesSlide38

Details

In the

“Details” box write a broad-picture description with no names.

Example: Two students were fighting.

AGAIN NO NAMES!Slide39

Event

Event type must be filled in from the drop down.

Behavior Response is someone was restrained – Think CPI. Was some

action was taken to immobilize the

student?

Can put anyone that was a witness

Student names must be listed

here as Student A or Student BSlide40

Participant Details.

Only the student’s name can be used here – NO other students names should be used.

Example

Cia,

student A, was in a fight with Student B and Student C

List the role.

Be specific but objective. Do not say “this child has been a problem for me for months”

Say on this day

Cia told

Student B ‘I’m going to fucking kill you with my shotgun.’Slide41

Referrals

This was saved as a draft

The I symbol in orange is for the behavior response

You can add a new event at this point as well

First event was a fight

Second event was drug possession.

Review your information and participants. (Pictures will be available depending on school).

For now, your version of a

pink slip

is to take a screenshot of this. Something is being developed to replace the pink slip

.

Incident number is what you can track.

When you are ready – You can submit the document.Slide42

Referral Submitted

After the incident has been submitted the teacher can no longer edit it.

Administrators

have been advised to only change teacher details/descriptions if names were used where they should not have been.

Secretaries will have “read-only” on the referrals

The district is working on how special education teachers could be notified and Plans of ProvisionsSlide43

FAQ Notes

The “Details” box

should never

be left

blank,

and

NO

students should be identified.

A

student’s initials cannot be used to identify other students.

The difference between a fight and an assaultFight– both kids fight. Misdemeanor assault - - one person is trying to do bodily harm to another. – One kid doesn’t want to fight – felony – Sent to the state…If you aren’t sure put fight.Admin can’t change what you write but they can uncheck the box for restraint, and the type of crime.

Make sure you know school code of conduct.Staff members are to be included and identified as a

participant.Any staff member is responsible for completing and submitting a Behavioral Referral.

This does NOT replace the MPS “Report of Student Accident/Injury” formThe method of communication from school administration after a Behavior Referral has been submitted will be determined by the Principal in each building. The staff member will know that an administrator has received the Behavior Referral and rendered a

resolution by receiving a message in their I.C. mailbox.Slide44
