Remembering Alma Mater Dear Alumni, Our alumni have grown in stature an d multiplied in numbers. S ome of the felt, they wanted to contribute something to their revered alma mater. Some suggested a need for structured system in place In fact, Mr . S Mohammed Ali of Vel Tech High Tech BE (EC ) 2012 batch placed in TCS, has been contributing Rs. 2000/ pm from February 2013 and has requested that Rs. 24,000 be granted as scholarship to an outstandi ng girl student in the name of Vel Tech DR SR Narishiksha Scholarship. The Scholarship of Rs 24000 was rewarded to a girl student on

February 24, 2014. It is a great good beginning. We have therefore decided to structure a scheme to enable every alumnus to participate in the pleasure of giving. Scheme for Alumni Participation 1. Every batch of students leaving the college/ institution in an academic year shall be known as (Vel Techian of that respective year ) Example: Vel Techian 2013 to indicate that the graduate belonged to 2013 batch irrespective of the actual date of admission and graduation. 2. Each a lumnus of the batch is free to contribute to the account of the College Alumni any amount whenever the alumnus feels

like. It could be one time lump sum or a group action or annual etc. 3. Any alumnus may contribute a recurring or a lump sum amount with a sp ecific purpose and name. Such grant/contribution however shall not be less than Rs. 20,000/ Typically such a contribution may be provided as a grant and presented in the chosen student during the Alumni Day function under intimatio n/invitation to the dono r alumnus/alumni S.No Particulars Amount in INR. In case of individual contribution/participation amounting to any of the above, the person may also specify norms and conditions and the Name, Style and form of the award. But all contributions shal l be in money by cheque. But the fund name shall not have any community or relig ious connotations. 5. All funds shall be treated as donations and non refundable; Naming shall also not confer any

other right but serve only as a contribution by a group of alumni. 6. Each batch can form sub groups in terms of Branch of stu dy or college or co llege Branch like Mech/ECE/CSE etc. or VT/VTMT/VTH T etc or VTMECH/VTMT ECE2013/VTH T CSE 2012 etc. and each such sub gro up could also have its own acti ve members who could operate Fixed Deposit accounts and decide on the disposal of all such income. 7. d) for the best all round performance in a college maintaining more than 75% from rd Sem onwards publishing at least 1 indexed paper Participating with paper presentation in at least 2 national/international conferences conducted by engineering colleges. repres enting college in other forums cultural activities sports 9. In case of Scholarships, the batch may opt for associating with MGNMS Scheme C in the name of : for example Vel Tech Alumni 2010 MGNMS All scholarships under this scheme shall be awarded to those who have not received any other scholarship. However awards can
