Our weekly spelling consists of a spelling pattern and sight words. We have a total of 16 words and 2 bonus

Weekly tests will be averaged for one major writing grade.

The dictation sentences use the weekly spelling words, sight words, and past patterns to ensure mastery of spelling. The sentences are designed to help build working memory. They are graded for spelling accuracy, correct capitalization, and ending punctuation. Weekly dictation will be averaged for one daily writing grade.

Homework is the reinforcement of learning that occurs in the classroom.

Students will receive their homework folders on Friday afternoon and return them on Friday morning.

Homework consists of students reading to an adult for

practicing spelling

and a math worksheet. It is recommended that students study math facts every night.
