Dialogue is the conversation between characters.

This is an example of dialogue. It shows that someone is speaking

Each time a new person speaks, a new paragraph starts.

Dialogue always has quotation marks

The comma is used in place of the period unless the tag comes first.

Tag Words

Most common is SAID, but you can use others to better describe how the character said those words.

Just remember to use a tag word that makes sense! Don’t use questioned if it is a statement.

Other tag words:

shouted

cried

bellowed

questioned

agreed

exclaimed

laughed

Descriptions

Vague nouns are nouns that do not give any details about the person place or thing.

Like in the following sentence:

The

man drove to the city in his car. If we replace the vague nouns in the sentence with concrete ones we create a better picture.
