Training StaffWe have 2 fully certified and highly experienced athletic trainers. Joe Parker and Jessica Morales. They oversee a staff of student trainers who work tirelessly to provide for our athletes. Our athletes safety is always our number one priority.

When an athlete gets injured he or she must see our training staff.

They are experts in getting them the proper care they need.

They determine when they are recovered from an injury and able to play again. All players are expected to see the training staff for treatment in the mornings when injured. This puts the athlete in position to get healed up in the best manner possible. All players are expected to dress out during the athletic period and after school for practice when injured. They will be put on a rehab program determined by our training staff to get them back to full strength. All players and parents are expected to treat our training staff and student trainers with the utmost respect. Slide3

“Your child’s success or lack of success in sports does not indicate what kind of parent you are. But, having an athlete that is coachable,

respectful, a great teammate, mentally tough,

resilient, and tries their best

IS a direct reflection of your parenting.”Slide9

QuittingCCISD District Athletics policy states that if a student-athlete quits a sport during that sports season that athlete cannot begin workouts/practices with the next sport he/she wishes to play until the sport they are quitting season has ended completely. At Clear Falls we 100% support this policy. Those athletes that do chose to quit will be placed in PE until their current sport season ends. Timelines do not matter in this scenario.

One of the biggest values we are trying to teach is that of commitment and overcoming adversity.

Quitters are not wanted at Clear Falls High School!Slide10

Practice.-We will practice on Labor Day. In the morning, done by noon.-We will practice during Thanksgiving week.

-Make plans accordingly to be here at those times.

-Players are expected to be at practice everyday. The coaching staff must receive a notification from a parent/guardian anytime a player misses a practice.

-The JV does serve as the scout team for the varsity during some practice segments.-It’s still the same skill and techniques used to make them successful at their position. Just utilizing them within the upcoming opponents schemes. -By going against the Varsity units during practice the JV players to be more than ready when they match up with JV opponents on Thursday afternoon and evening. How does recruiting work? Each year in the spring and then again in the fall colleges come by to inquire about prospects. This past spring we had coaches from 45 plus schools come by to find out about our potential recruits. We tell them the truth about a prospects character, academics, work ethic, athletic ability, potential, etc.

Those schools want to know if the prospects they are interested in will pass NCAA eligibility requirements.

These requirements can be found at the NCAA Eligibility Center website. Must have a certain core GPA in line with ACT/SAT test score. Sliding scale.

If an athlete can’t meet those requirements NCAA institutions can’t offer them. NAIA and Junior College’s can still potentially recruit that athlete. The schools want to know what type of character the athlete has. In today’s society they don’t want to take many risks on low character athletes. They will check social media. They will do their research.Ways that schools show interest:Letters, mean very little. Generally part of a large data base.

Contacting the athletes via phone, twitter, at camps etc., more significant. Shows there is an interest level. Camps can be a benefit. Must remember that camps are for showcasing a players skills. Camps should not get in the way of opportunities for players to improve upon their skills by being at our workouts.

Beware of “catfishing”. Slide16

What are the ingredients of a successful program?Best players are the hardest workers. Those best players then demand excellence from their teammates.Creates a player-driven environment where all members give their very best at all times for their teammates. A culture of not wanting to let your teammate down.

This then gets passed on to the younger players when they arrive.

They feel the expectation of continuing that high standard of excellence.

This along with a team of players with high moral character creates success. Must commit during the summer! Can not afford to lose all we gain from the off-season during the Summer.SWAT must be the first priority. Camps and other activities second in the summer. If you want this program to be successful the commitment to SWAT must be tremendous!Slide17

FundraisersOutfitting 200 plus athletes for football is expensive. The basic budget provided has to be aided by fundraisers in order to give our athletes the best equipment, video materials, and training materials needed. We need your support in encouraging our athletes to sell their allotment of “Knight Cards”.The Booster Club needs your support in helping with Booster Club fundraisers throughout the year.

In addition the Booster Club needs your support in helping to see to it that our student-athletes are provided with every opportunity to be successful. Slide21

Locker Rooms, valuables, and laundryDo not bring anything to school that you do not want stolen. Most of the time when something is stolen it comes back to simply not locking a locker. All players are responsible for washing their practice and workout gear.

Game gear is washed by the coaching staff. Slide22
