CLAMBER An enticing garden of hidden spaces and passageways where visitors explore an evolving labyrinth of clambering plants growing within a grid of leaning rope walls in a forest of columns drawing the eye upwards. It is an upside-down garden, where people are invited to pause in any of the four plant themed spaces, contemplating views of the sky framed by a changing border of owering climbers. Clamber is a garden of inversions, where relationships between the sky and the ground, artice and nature, order and chaos are questioned through the interplay between architectonic structure and natural ora. Visitors are free to explore their own way through Clamber, either by following the prescribed path or by delving into the grid of ropes and plants and clambering through the space themselves. e interactive space is enlivened through movement of both people and plants over its life. Clamber will change over time, as the initial bones of the structure become cloaked in a blanket of foliage, turning the garden away from its early rigid architectonic form to a softer, more mysterious sensorial experience.
