The Executives

As a group of Executive Directors, you sit at the top of the Organisational Structure within the Trust. You are accountable to the Chief Executive and make up the Board of Directors. Ultimately, you work within this group to oversee and steer the organisation, whilst working in accordance with Government regulations, and meeting local needs and circumstances. You need to be assured that initiatives such as WPP will be able to deliver; ensuring that the investment of finances, resources and time is well spent and justifiable. The Well Prepared Programme will report to you on a regular basis to keep you informed of progress.

As a Service Improvement Programme, hoping to engage with you and obtain your support and enthusiasm…

1) How should we interact with you?2) How can we engage you? (What appeals to you? What do you want to see?)

3)What challenges might we face communicating with you?

4) As a staff group – what would excite you the most about being engaged and involved in this process?Slide11

The Patients

As a patient, (or parent/carer) you are currently on a journey through the Surgical Pathway. You will have attended an Outpatient Appointment, and be at one of the following stages within the Pathway; one of you might be awaiting a date for surgery, one of you may have received this date and be somewhere in the process of preparing yourself (or your child) for this, one of you might be arriving on the date of your admission, and one of you might have been recently discharged following your admission. You are directly affected by any changes or improvements that are made to the pathway and therefore it is fundamental that the programme obtains patient engagement and input to ensure that the focus is on things that matter to you. You have experienced at least part of the pathway, and as a Service Improvement Programme hoping to engage with you and obtain your support and enthusiasm…

The Consultants

As a Consultant Surgeon within a certain speciality in Surgery and Critical Care Division, you will spend a proportion of your time in Outpatients, seeing patients and potentially listing them for surgical intervention, and a proportion of your time actually performing operations on patients in theatres. As a Consultant Anaesthetist, the majority of your clinical time will be spent in theatres anaesthetising patients prior to their operation. You may sometimes be consulted about clinical or operational decision making to ensure patient safety but a lot of your time is absorbed by clinical duties. The work that will be undertaken by Well Prepared aims to positively influence both your working day and the experience of your patients. As

a Service Improvement Programme, hoping to engage with you and obtain your support and enthusiasm…

The Nurses/AHP’s/ODP’s

As a frontline member of a clinical team within the Surgery and Critical Care pathway – you will work closely with patients and other multi-disciplinary team members, under the supervision of a frontline manager. The majority of your time is spent within Theatres, carrying out your clinical duties. The pathways within Well Prepared will affect various aspects of your every day work and decisions made will affect both you and your patients. As part of the operational team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to decision making and generation of ideas. You will have access to the Well Prepared Programme leads; as

a Service Improvement Programme, hoping to engage with you and obtain your support and enthusiasm…
