for EMS and Fire Rescue Presented by Major Connie Shingledecker Manatee County Sheriffs Office amp Dr Barbara Wolf District 5 Medical Examiner FSS 3833362 Requires first responders law enforcement fire rescue and EMS to receive training specific to Sudden Unexpected Infant Death . Over 300 babies still die every year of SIDS in the UK Research has shown that several maternal and infant care factors are more commonly associated with babies who die of SIDS than those who survive There is no advice that guarantees the prevention Facts About Sudden Cardiac Arrest in the Young Each year in the United States 350000 Americans die suddenly and unexpectedly due to cardiac arrhythmias 3976 of them are young people under age 35 CDC 2002 1 in 200000 high school athletes in the US wi Concept: Oxygenation. Approximately 2,500 infants die suddenly and without explanation in the United States each year.. Introduction Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is a phenomenon where an infant under the age of one dies due to unknown reasons. There are speculations that the reasons might include respiratory problems or circulatory problems but doctors have not been able to pinpoint the cause of death yet. One theory in the field is by Dr. McKenna, whose hypothesis is that signaling occurs between mothers and babies when they are cosleeping (sleeping next to each other or are in the same room). This signaling may assist to reset the breathing patterns or the arousal rhythm of sleep which would help some babies who might be susceptible to SIDS. The objective of the study was to test this hypothesis of mothers and babies cosleeping by looking at mathematical equations and relating them to different states of sleep: active and quiet sleep. This was done by modeling sleep in several different ways and by using sleep data from Dr. Thoman BPJPlace the infant to sleep on their back with their face Ensure the infant146s face is clear of bedding and they cannot become trapped or strangled Pillows and bumper pads should be avoided the infa Noaimi.
