How to Administer Glucagon:Each glucagon kit contains pictorial instructions on administering.Administer glucagon into the thigh, arm, or buttock.

Have someone call 9-1-1.Open kit.
Remove the flip top seal from vial.Remove needle protector from syringe.

How to Administer Slowly inject all sterile water from syringe into vial of powder.
Gently swirl vial (don’t shake) until solution is clear.Withdraw all solution into syringe.
Be careful when pulling back on syringe.

How to Administer Turn student on their side.Insert needle at straight (90 degree angle)into the arm or the outer thigh.
Withdraw needle and apply light pressure to the site.

Place used needle back in kit close lid. DO NOT RECAP NEEDLE!Give the used glucagon kit to EMS personnel when they arrive.
