BWH Faculty Career Development Award
2013 Faculty Career Development Awards
(part of the HMS Shore Fellowship Program)with support from the BWH President’s Office and the Biomedical Research Institute
Provides support for the academic career development of junior faculty,
with emphasis on assisting women, URMs, and
faculty who have family responsibilities
Eligibility:
M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent advanced degree.
Appointment at level of Instructor or Assistant Professor at HMS

BRI/ORC Micro Grant
The Biomedical Research Institute (BRI) and the Center for Faculty Development & Diversity's Office for Research Careers (ORC) offer micro grants for scientific projects (basic, translational or clinical), training/career advancement, and special circumstances
Amount of Award:
Funds are awarded based on merit. Applications are evaluated by BRI & ORC staff on a rolling basis with input from the BRI Executive Committee (EC) as needed.
Eligibility:Post-docs, residents, clinical fellows and junior faculty (ranking assistant professor or below) who are BWH employees may apply.
Individuals may only be the recipient of one micro grant in this pilot phase.
Applicants must apply in advance of the event requiring support and may not receive support for events that have already occurred

BWH Minority Faculty Career Development Award
Granted annually to early-career underrepresented minority (URM) academicians to assist them in obtaining and developing the skills necessary to attain a faculty appointment. at BWH and Harvard Medical School. This award is an important part of BWH’s efforts to increase the representation of URM physicians and scientists in the fellowship programs and faculty positions at BWH.
Amount of Award

The MFCDA is a mentored career development award of $150,000 which is paid out over a 7-year period

URM senior resident, fellow or junior faculty
