PreSetsTOTAL CONTROL IsoStone thresholds Strong, insulating thresholds made from featherweight glass-fibre plastic for PVC façade elements 2 3 ISOSTONE THRESHOLDS FOR PVC FAÇADE ELEMENTS The BUVA IsoStone ® series of thresholds for PVC façade elements are made from glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP). The profile consists mainly of pure glass and the structured surface is coated with UV-resistant corundum granules. The thresholds are also available in bluestone-look. The base plinths are made from polyethylene. Important benefits are the low weight, enormous strength, break and scratch-resistance and the minimum expansion coefficient. e patented threshold is more than 10 x lighter than, for example, natural stone thresholds and therefore significantly easier to handle during manufacture, transport, processing and installation. Strength The glass-fibre reinforced plastic is practically unbreakable, dimensionally stable and stronger (tensile strength) than, for instance, aluminium. The coating provides a very longwearing finish. Expansion coefficient The damp-proof thresholds have a minimum expansion coefficient (the same as concrete) and hardly shrink or swell at all during changes in temperature. 1 metre of BUVA IsoStone threshold swells or shrinks by only 0.4 mm at a temperature difference of 50° Celsius. Thermal insulation With its low U-value of 2.2 W/(m 2 .K), the BUVA IsoStone threshold provides a reduction in the Energy Performance Coefficient (EPC). The insulating threshold prevents cold radiation in winter. 5 The BUVA IsoStone

BUVA IsoStone thresholds are available for both profile types on all system houses. Recessed profiles Two thresholds are available for the recessed profiles on the system houses, the PS0500 and the PS0600. Non-recessed profiles The PS7055 is specifically designed for non-recessed profiles. To be used under all non-recessed profile systems on all system houses. Joints The joint between the frame upright and the BUVA IsoStone PS0500 or PS0600 thresholds is achieved with a base plinth that is specifically designed for the profile system. Dowel pins are installed in the bas

The threshold/base plinths also have holes that correspond with the profile system to attach the threshold properly under the frame uprights. Base plinths are supplied with dowel pins and packing. Drawings are available of all the possible combinations of the BUVA IsoStone thresholds system in every system house. Filler strips Variations of the BUVA IsoStone threshold are achieved with AM strips, delivering a solution for almost every system house. Burglar-resistance According to the Dutch Building Code, the Dutch Police Hallmark for Safe Homes (PKVW) and the Dutch National Safety Guidelines (NBR), accessible doors and windows must comply with burglar-resistance class 2. BUVA IsoStone thresholds can be used under burglar resistance class 2 façade elements, providing the fitter complies with a number of conditions. Noise insulation Requirements are set in the Dutch Building Code regarding the characteristic noise resistance of exterior partition constructions. Noise leaks by doors have great impact on this performance. In order to prevent noise leaks, doors can be sealed optimally
