Next Advisory Committee Meeting will Kick-Off the year long process for reviewing current plan for recommendations Each Qtr Meeting, we will review one goal, it’s objectives & action Items for recommendations to: Keep As-Is, Keep-Modify Mark Complete Add New Items AEL Strategic Plan Timeline Committee Discussion Jauneen Maldonado, Presiding Officer 2023 Recommendations Past Committee Discussions The need to move forward the recommendation for the “No Wrong Door Approach” The need to move forward the recommendation for Employer Collaboration and to meet the pre-employment and employability skills needs for AEL customers and a competitive labor market. Revision of AEL Strategic Plan to include metrics for goals to allow for creation of a dashboard for partners and the public. Presentations We heard from The Manufacturing Institute, Jack Trebtoske about building an Ecosystem-based Second Chance Hiring Initiative. This toolkit guides manufacturers through the launch of this Initiative. We heard from the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) about a program supported by manufacturers to train and develop Advanced Manufacturing Technicians. There are 425 sponsoring companies with 37 chapters in 14 states. Committee Discussion No Wrong Door Approach How might we identify partners and strategies to promote the no wrong door approach? What role does workforce solutions play in this initiative? Employer Collaboration How can AEL engage employers to create a talent pipeline to address industry needs? How might we design an Employer Connect Center around key industry sectors? Discussion Cont’d AEL Strategic Plan Revisions How might we identify benchmarks/metrics for each of the goals in the plan? How will a dashboard with the plan metrics benefit the partners and the public? Next Meeting Tentative Date TBD
