Enabling the Canadian Engineering Grand Challenges (CEGCS) for Educators Engineering Leadership - Introduction Outline CEGC and the Role of the Engineer Engineering Leadership Overview Engineering Leadership Skills Engineering Leadership Domains of Influence Summary CEGC and the Role of the Engineer The CEGC are complex sociotechnical challenges. To design and develop sustainable solutions to the CEGCs, engineers must embrace the concept that their role goes beyond creating technical solutions. CEGC and the Role of the Engineer Engineering is a sociotechnical practice Requires a leadership mindset Requires intentional development of transdisciplinary skills Combines leadership capabilities, management capacity Includes ability to develop and communicate sustainable solutions with both technical and non-technical communities.
