There is a desire (particularly for academics) to produce archival publications and to have face-to-face meetings
The IEEE/CS platform Collabratec is encouraged for new STCs and may live alongside existing social networking platforms.

Way forward The CS continues to need a nimble way to organize emerging technologies.
STCs who want a conference that closely relate to a TC can align with the TC’s conference.
STCs who want a conference different that the TCs can support are hosted by a general conference.
STCs who are stable after X years are encouraged to apply to be TCs/Consortia, Special Initiatives and Future Directions. 14 29-Nov-2016<br>
