Massive Open Online Courses at Ukrainian Agrarian Universities: To Be or Not to Be Bohdan Shunevych, Ph.D., Lviv National Environmental University, Dublyany, Lviv region, Ukraine The most of the students studying at our agrarian University are citizens of villages in western part of Ukraine (Lviv region, Ternopil region, Ivano-Frankivsk region and others). At the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war (February, 2022) usually there were no electricity and Internet access. Now the situation normalized with the help of the USA, Canada, European countries and other countries of the world. Administration of Lviv National Environmental University (LNEU) organized installing a new version of Moodle at its server and newer versions of distance courses were being compiled for students of different specialties at our University’s five Faculties just before the epidemic and during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. It was hard to organize distance learning at the beginning of the epidemic (March, 2020). The simplest means of communication with university students were chosen by teaching staff of our University. For example, for providing English classes during the quarantine were used e-mail or Viber. The study materials were also available on the university website. All students had the opportunity to communicate constantly with their teachers by - phone and e-mail, - Zoom video conferencing + distance courses, textbooks, electronic and printed dictionaries etc. A bit later the teaching staff of the Department of Foreign languages and students at LNEU decided to use English online courses from Ukrainian and American platforms: Lingva.Skills Prometheus Coursera and other electronic materials as additional educational materials for distance courses, English textbooks, lecture courses, etc. Lingva.Skills Prometheus Coursera To help the rural students: some students living in Dublyany town and Lviv city tried to search for the online courses and other electronic educational materials not only for foreign languages (English, German) instruction but for their specialties and analyzed them in the form of research work under the guidance of teachers. The results of the first-year students’ research were discussed at the international student’s conferences, teacher’s conferences and summed up in our report at the international conference in Fergana (Uzbekistan) in 2022 [4]. The purposes of the report are as follows: to describe the prospects of further search for educational material from MOOC platforms, other electronic resources for the second-year students and the materials analysis; to present the ways of spreading the results of students’ research work, participation at the
