Update weekly if your schedule changes often
Can’t make an assignment-CALL ME…do not just reject the game.
Communication-Everyone on a game should call, text, email, or whatever is best to communicate with your teammates, at least 24 hours before game time. It is extremely unprofessional to just not show up for your assignment. If this happens, you risk not getting any future assignments. COMMUNICATE!!!

slide3. Save the dates!!! We have lots of games and opportunities for all of our referees.
Girls Academy-Feb. 20th-great games for game count. Can be used as upgrade possibilities. Money is very good since these are higher level games. HOWEVER….they are not open to everyone. Assignors have the responsibility to assign referees they feel are capable and competent to service these games.
U-10 Development league-We have two dates for these games. Great for everyone to do especially our young newer referees. Money is also good for shorter modified play. 1st date is; March 12, at LCC-there will be 29 games. 2nd date-April 30th-same format. Games are usually in blocks of 3 or 4. 8 referees are needed!!!!<br>

Girls Academy games-FRIDAY again-April 8th,and also the 9th, and 10th
Girls Academy games-last weekend-SUNDAY only-April 24th
TTL goes on every weekend-Games will be scheduled out to the end of March for U11-U19’s. No games over spring break!
Founders Cup-Teams in recreational division-Cup play begins with:

Quarterfinals-4/16

slide7. Handling or commonly known as Handball! Handling is not as easy as seeing a ball hitting the arm or hand.
There are factors to consider<br>
slide8. HANDLING Deliberate act of a player making contact, with the ball with hand or arm
Movement of hand towards ball
Distance between the opponent and the ball
Position of hand does not necessarily mean that there is an infringement
Touching ball with an object held in hand
Hitting ball with a thrown object<br>
slide9. Handling cont. Other factors to consider
Did the player make themselves larger?
Did the player try to cut off a passing lane?
Is the player in an unnatural position?
Stop and think……Not every touch of a player’s hand/arm with the ball is a handling offence.<br>
slide10. Law 12 2021-2022 Handling Clarification It is an offence if a player:
Deliberately touches the ball with hand or arm, for example moving the hand or arm towards the ball
Touches the ball with hand or arm when the action has made the body unnaturally bigger. A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of the hand or arm is not a consequence, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. By having their hand/arm in such a position, the player takes a risk of having their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalized.<br>

directly from hand/arm, even if accidental, including by the goalkeeper
Immediately after the ball has touched the hand/arm, even if accidental

Referees must judge the validity of the hand/arm position in relation to what the player is doing in that particular situation.
