PASSIONIST ALUMNI REUNION Event Follow-up Survey October 2019 The Passionist Alumni reunion held in Detroit Michigan was a hit. Not just a hit —it was a home run. All but one of the 45 attendees who responded to the survey gave the event high marks. Here is what they liked! They were deeply appreciative of the time and effort put in by the Council and specially the planning committee to make the event the success it was on so many levels. They loved the retreat center venue— not only because of the Passionist relationship but because the design facilitated communal interaction and adjacency to all other activities — meals, meetings and prayer. That is why they came — for the connection with old friends, the fellowship and brotherhood. However many commented that the broader range of alumni gave them opportunities to meet others and make new relationships as well. The price was right. The value was evident and virtually everyone wanted to maintain the donation option. Most enjoyed the sessions. But they were clearly secondary to the time spent with one another. The liturgy and prayer service were also well received. The power and witness of full participation and full- throated acclamation was noted by quite a few as inspirational and affirming. 1 What could have been better? The hotel options while used by only few could have been better. Those at America’s Best Value seemed to disagree with the brand name promise. Several people suggested that we find ways to introduce and connect those who don’t know one another, now that the event has expanded beyond the Warrenton Prep alumni. The photo session was called chaotic and unorganized. We need to do better there. Many liked the diversity of activity but still wanted more time to interact. The change of schedule to include the old monastery tour was great for some. Others thought it appeared unorganized. Some found it hard to see a wonderful memory in disarray. Box Score These concerns though were minor. Inconsequential errors in an almost perfect game. The crowd roared their approval. Well planned, well done! Let's do it again with even more people next time. We will be there if we can, said 96 percent of those responding. 2 Overall Impression Of Reunion 3 Reason For Overall Evaluation 4 What Was Liked Most 5 Activity, Presentation and Venue Evaluations ( % 5/4 Ratings From
